Laundry Tips

Do Not Overload The Washer

You must leave room in a front load washer for the items to tumble around. This tumbling accounts for more than 70% of the cleaning process (more than detergent). For top load washers – do NOT fill over the agitators for best results. Again the agitation is the cleaning. Also, the water only fills so high in a top loader, otherwise water would end up on the floor when the machine is agitating.

Do Not Use Too Much Detergent

More soap does not mean cleaner clothes. Often the soap is unable to wash out of the clothes. This leaves residue on the clothing that fades colors and attracts more dirt. Read the directions on your bottle/box and stick to them; just don’t pour, measure!
